You may hear Krissy's laugh before you see her smiling face come around the corner. She LOVES teaching children to swim and has been doing so since she was 14 years old (more than 30 years)!! Krissy started teaching lessons when she was in middle school by posting fliers around her local pool: $5.00 for a 30 min private lesson with Coach Krissy
She volunteered on her local summer swim team in middle school and high school (Ridgewood Barracudas), grew up swimming on Vets Park, Lake Ridge Lancers, Ridgewood, and then OCCS year round. Krissy coached USA swimming with Williamsburg Aquatics Club (WAC) for 3 years while attending the College of William and Mary, coached the Wellington Dolphins for one summer, coached with OCCS for 12 years and has been the head coach of Stealth for the last 13 years. Her love of the pool starts with baby swimming (SwimBabies are SmartBabies) and extends all the way to taking swimmers to Zones and USA qualification meets of all levels. Krissy, her brother Dave, and his wife Cindy, started SwimKids Swim School in her backyard in 1996! Krissy's love of swimming and supporting the sport in our community is at the core of who Krissy is! She says that her husband of 25 years, Yurii, is the light of her life. They feel incredibly lucky to have three children who all love swimming on OBB (Rio (11), Thrace (18) and Tirayan (20). Krissy spends her time traveling, setting goals, reading, connecting with friends and family and running 10 swim schools on the East Coast. In her work with SwimKids and Emler she speaks at local and international conferences, develops leaders, and coaches kids to swim whenever she gets the opportunity! Krissy is SO EXCITED to be able to give back to the OBB summer team community this year and looks forward to seeing YOU at the pools!
Hi everyone! Many of you will have noticed me around the Breakers pool deck at some point each summer. I’ve spent Saturdays as an official hoping not to raise my hand for a stoke or turn infraction for the past 15 years! Many of you still remember Romain and Natan as Breakers and although they have moved on from swimming, their sense of Breakers discipline, team spirit, and friendship continues to motivate them today.
I love swimming, but am not much of a swimmer myself. Sure, I swim laps to stay in shape but I grew up, like many Boomers, playing football, basketball and baseball. I’ve lived here in Old Bridge Estates for the past 24 years and that’s about the time when the swimming bug got a hold of me. I believe that swimming is the perfect sport/lifeskill!
For the past 13 years I’ve been teaching swim lessons at the CHINN Aquatics and Fitness Center as a WSI (Water Safety Instructor). I’ve worked with all levels of swimmers from 4 year olds, to adaptive(my favorite students), and adults who often want to overcome their fear and join their kids in the water.
Most of all, I love teaching kids how to swim fast with good technique. Not only so they can win a race, although that sometimes happens, but because it is so important for children to build self-confidence, and resilience. The Breakers Swim Team does this in an atmosphere of friendship and fun! I am so excited to help your swimmer reach their goals this summer and look forward to meeting you!
Hi everyone! My name is Morgan Gold and I am returning this summer as an assistant head coach for OBB. I became a part of the Breakers in 2010 when I was 8 years old and have stayed involved ever since then. In May 2025 I graduated from Michigan State University with a major in Music Education and a minor in Jewish Studies. During college I was a member of the figure skating team, Spartan Marching Band, Spartan Brass, and Delta Gamma sorority. I currently work as the band teacher at Beville MS. I’ve always been a busy person and love getting to make connections with lots of people. I can’t wait to see the returning swimmers and families as well as getting to meet all of the new members. Go Breakers!
