Swim Meet 101

🏊 Breakers Swim Meet Info for New Families! 🌊

Welcome to your first swim meet! Here’s everything you need to know to make it a smooth and fun experience.

đź“… When to Arrive:

  • Plan to arrive at least 15-30 minutes before warm-ups (times will be sent before each meet).
  • Check in with the coaches upon arrival.

🎒 What to Bring:

✔ Swim gear – suit, cap, goggles (bring extras just in case!).

✔ Towels – at least 2, as they get wet quickly.

✔ Chairs/Blankets – for seating in the team area.

✔ Snacks & Water – meets can be long, so stay hydrated and fueled.

✔ Cash – grab a breakfast sandwich or burgers at concessions.

✔ Sunscreen & Shade – hats, umbrellas, or pop-up tents for outdoor meets.

✔ Sharpie Marker – to write event info on your swimmer’s arm.

✔ Team Spirit! – cheer on your teammates and have fun! 🎉

🏅 What to Expect:

  • Warm-ups happen first, followed by some relays, then individual events.
  • Events will be called—help younger swimmers get to their lanes.
  • Be ready for lots of cheering and an exciting team atmosphere!
  • Meets can last several hours, so be prepared to stay and support the team.
  • Remember to stay after the meet to help put the pool back together for our community.
